A few things worth knowing.
Will a lower group always cost me less?
No. Your age, postcode, claims, use of the car and the insurer’s own pricing also matter. Compare actual quotes for the cars you’re considering, using the same driver details and cover.
Why can the same model have different groups?
The engine, trim, equipment and model year can vary. A model name alone is not enough to identify the exact rated variant.
What is Vehicle Risk Rating?
Thatcham’s newer Vehicle Risk Rating considers damage, repair, safety, security and performance. It is replacing the older group system. Keep the rating system shown with each result because the two scales are not interchangeable.
Can I check my registration here?
